The Last Battle are an Edinburgh based 8-piece alt-folk group. They formed in July 2009 and played their first show in October for the Oxjam Festival in Edinburgh. They’ve since played numerous shows in Edinburgh and Glasgow, most recently at
The Captains Rest and have supported Dawn Landes, a folk singer from New York who’s worked with the likes of Ryan Adams.The Last Battle have caused a buzz within music bloggers, with the likes of Song By Toad, Suitcase Orchestra and The Steinberg Principle all singing their praises and their songs have been played on Glasgow Podcart, Define Pop, Celtic Music Radio and The Scotsman’s Under The Radar xmas podcast.
On tips for 2010 lists, the bands name popped up on a few including The SteinbergPrinciples, Glasgow Podcarts and The Scotsmans Under The Radar.
The band are currently putting the finishing touches to their debut album and are in talks with both Mini50 Records in Edinburgh and Indiecater Records in Dublin who have both expressed interest in releasing it in 2010.
